Bourbon Man Killed, , , Henry Ross 70 of Bourbon was killed when a tree fell on him while he ‘was cutting timber for the Peabody Lumber company in a strip of woods five miles south of there, ; It is believed he misjudged the direction in which the tree would fall. Witnesses said he tried to run out of danger but was too late. He is survived by a widow. ; Man and Cows Xilled. ' Harley Johnson 25 of Culver was killed instantly Monday when the truck he was driving was struck by a fast southbound Pennsylvania train near Delong. Two cows in the truck also were killed. ~ Killed at South Bend. Alfonso Vermiere of South Bend died in Epworth hospital there Saturday night three hours after he was struck by an automobile driver unknown. There is no trace of .the driver who did not stop his car, A careening automobile which suddenly became uncontrollable bholted over the curbing at the corner of Indiana avenue and Catalpa street Sunday evening and crashed into the corner of .a store building atter knocking one woman to the sidewalk and throwing a young man from 'the running board where he was riding.
