A .remonstrance against the city and school tax levies of Auburn has been filed in the office 'of County Auditor Frank Shook by a group of 30 taxpayers Mr.| Shook at once sent a copy of the remonstrance to the state tax commissioners which will set a date for hearing in Dekalb counLy. . 5 . The signers state that the levies will produce “more than the government economically administered warrants.” - ; _ Policemen Get Tipsy. Found guilty of intoxication George H. Johnson William H, Hamilton and Ray Dunlap state policemen were fined $lO and costs each in a magistrate court at Bluffton. iThey were sent there from Indianapolis last week to aid in policing the Bluffton fair and were arrested when it was charged they appeared on the street in an intoxicated condition. Trial Hard Fought, One of the hardest fought trials ever held in court in Cromwell occurred Monday in the Dan Galloway and Rossie Deardortf trouble. Assault and battery was the charge filed against Mr. Galloway. The jury was out al} afternoon and stood 8 to 4 for the defendant.
