James Calhoun 64 years old of Mishawaka was perhaps fatally injured when he was struck by a street car while walking across the street. He was taken to the St. Joseph hospital, where it was found that he had sustained a fracture of the skull.

| MOONSHINE BLINDNESS Goshen Resident Loses Sight When l He Imbibes Liguor Made in Beni v ~ tom : ~ James Davis of Benton is under ISI,OOO bond on a charge of having jsold liquor on Nov. 3 to Charles Rohrer of Goshen. . : Davis was arrested late Thursday lat his home in Benton by Police Chief Ed Rimpler. He procured bond and was released pending a hearing before Judge James S. Drake in the circuit court during the December term. According to Chief Rimpler Rohrer is now blind and partially paralytic as a result of drinking poisonous liguor sold to him by Davis on election night. ' A case against Davis filed on Oct. 6 1924 charging illegal possession and sale of intoxicating liquor is now pending in the circuit court. At his preliminary hearing Davis waived arraignment and pleaded not guilty. He was then released on bond of $5OO.
May Serve Sentence. ; Merritt Longbrake at present operating the Lincoln Cafe in Ligonier may serve a suspended penal farm sentence as a result of failure to pay a $lOO fine and costs ordered recently by Mayor Sloane of Warsaw upon plea of guilty to a liquor charge. Longbrake as noted in the Banner a week ago was arrested at Warsaw where he formerly resided when a quantity. of moonshine was found in his home. - e . ~ Theater Co. Lerner and William E. Widner as incorporators. - o '~ Mapn Crushed to Death, . Melvin A. Burger 48 of South Bend died from injuries sustained the day before at the Oliver plant. He was crushed between a truck and a chute. He went to South Bend from LaPaz Indiana 18 years ago. : ‘

. Building is Going Up. The new building over on Pigeon street near the Blitz factory to be occupied by the Hawpatch Co-Opera-tive Creamery is going up despite the fact that Arthur Yeayer is prevented from laying the cement blocks with which the plant is being constructed, he having a broken arm. 4 Mr. Yeager has a force of men at work on the structure composed of George Keitzer, Jess Biddle Nelson Vance and Bob Ritter. The construction work is being rushed as fast as the weather will permit.
To Have Fine Place.
~ Rollin Todd expects to open a fine recreation place and high class billiard parlor in his building just vacated by the Loy bookstore and wiil open for business about Thanksgiving day. He will handle cigars, confections , ice cream and barbecue lunches. The interior of the room is being redecorated by Charles Turnock and fine furniture is being added.
