-+ Child Accidentally Poisoned Anna May Hutchins, 21 months old daughter of Earl and Wilma Hutch: ins is dead at the lome of Mrs. Oliver: Hiser, in Portland as a result of being given poison through mistake by the mother last Friday morning. . The nature of the poison gvien the child has not heen definitely diagnosed 'by the 'attending physicians. | Mrs. Hutchins| went to the home of ‘a-neighbor, Mrs. Hazel Chamberlain, to procure some medicine for the baby. An unlabéled . bottle., : which was believed to he syrup of. figs, was given Mrs. Hutchins who hurried home ‘and gave 5[1:9, baby a spoonful of the fluid. - When tlie child began to strangle. medical attention was summoned and an operation was performed, and a tube was placed ‘through the opening in the throat iinto the v\\"i:id\ pipe. prolonging the child’s life wntil Monday night.

Ellithorp aged 68 years lifelong resident of LaGrange and Steuben counties and for many years a resident of the Salem Center community, died late Sunday afternoon at Lakeside hospital, Kendallville, following an operation tec which he submitted Wednesc‘ln;v for hernia. Large Barn Burns. A large barn on the Mrs. Dave Grumbly farm several miles north of Churubusco burned Monday ' afternoon. As the place there is unoccupied the barn and contents were completely destroyed by the flames. The cause of the fire is not known. Foster Sale Today. .
