. Little Tot Takes Fall. James Evers of Kendallville startec for 'the Wilbur Hill home north-west of that city. His little son Maynard age 3 years wanted to accompany him so he climbed onto the running board without knowledge of thHe father. As Mr. Evers turned the corner at the Longifear school house the baby fell from his apparently safe position anc struck on the pavement. Neighbors &rho witnessed the accident picked the little tot up expecting to find him dead but the injuries were slight. MrJ Evers was unaware of the accident un-| til he;arrived home. : : | . X This would mean the abandonment of her high school. A petition signed by 32¢ freeholders of Syracuse was presented to the towh council for the changf alleging a desire to lower taxes is the motive. e

Big Wreck Loss.

A loss estimated at $250,000 resulted when a broken wheel caused sixteen cars on an east bound Nickel Plate freight train to be ditched ai South Whitley. No one was injured unless some, tramps may have been buried beneath the debris. There were quite a number of tramps on the traine oo -
