At the time of the accident Miss Bockman was carrying the three year old Miller girl. When Smith had pleaded not guilty his trial was set for Ma3y 12. Smith .is charged with having murdered his grandmother who wag more than 80 years old and having buried her beneath the concrete floor of a chicken house. ;
Cecil Gordon, Marion an automo. bile salesman was instantly killed when a Pennsylvania train struck his machine at a grade crossing neai Crown Point. There were no eye witnesses to the accident and it is not known how Gordon happened to driv: in front of the train. : i v F e .

| Frank Juday Dead. Frank Jjuday 72 years old died at the !Goshen hospital Monday morning after a weeks illness with complications. He was born in this county and spent his entire life on the family homestead two miles southeast of New Paris. He was never married. , S - Taken to Farm. Ed Shaner of Goshen and Richard Bell of Elkhart were taken to the penal farm each to serve a sentence of thirty days for intoxication. |
