Mr. rGeen is Modest . Fred H. Green democratic candidate for representative to the state legislature for Noble county attended a joint meeting of the Elkhart and Orange townghip farm federation the other evening at Cosperville and made an address. Mr. Green is modest,_and failed to mention his performance but those present to listen to his remarks did not keep still. They talked freely of the utterances of Mr. Green’ and highly approved them. Being a farmer himself Mr. Green sympathizes with the tillers of the soll. He realizes the hardships the farmer hiu3 had to endure from the low prices farm products have commandedq foi several years past. He also, like his brother farmers has felt the weight of the high tax burden. - These conditions qualify him to speak of farm problems in an intelligent manner Mr. Green also ‘has pronounced ideas on the subject of needed legislation by the state. He is heartily in

favor of equalizing as well as reducing taxation so every property owner will pay his just share. He would vote'"to wipe out the useless boards and com_missions. that are absorbing the money of the people paid in taxes with their big salaries and -extravgant traveling and other expenses. In otlier words Mr. Green would have the government of the state county, township and municipality ad. ministed at the last possible expensec consistent with efficient rule. ! These are some of the questions M: Green is freely discussing with the t;bters of Noble county these days.
