A Ford truck driven by John Clements wholesale meat dealer at Wakarusa and accompanied Dby ; Floya Hahn an employee collided with ¢ Dodge touring car driven by HFred Strycker of near Goshen Thursdaj evening. The accident occurred twc miles north of Wakarusta while Clements was on his way to Wakarusa from Elkhart and Strycker was enroute home from Nappanec where he is employed. Clements said that the sun blinded him so that be couldn’t see the other car.
Pushed Through Window. Marie Goddard 20 and Dorothy Godier 13 of South Bend were severely injured when they were struck by an automobile driven by Mrs. Israel Shagaloff Thursday afternoon. * Mre Shagaloff became frightened by the repeated sounding of a street car gong behind her and turned into an alley. As she did so she struck the two girls pushing them through a store window. Both girls sustained fractures of their left legs above the knee and severe cuts and bruises. : Death of Mrs. Harrison. | Mrs. Louisa Harrison, aged mor¢ than 86 years and mother of W. C. B. Harrison of the Banner, died in 3 hospital at Hicksville, Ohio, Friday forenoon after an illness of about twc months. Mr. and Mrs. Harrison and son George Robert left for the Ohio town Saturday where the funeral ‘was held Sunday afternoon. - Women Wish to Serve as Jurors, The South Bend Chapter of the League of Women Voters Wednegsday afternoon filed petitions with the jury commissioners of all three county courts asking that they select women as well as men for jury service here-ag-ter.' The petitions, which contain no names were brought to the office of Wilbur M. Warner, county clerk Find Indian Skeleton. While workmen on the road between Wolf Lake and Bear lake were dynamiting at the Kiester gravel pit they recovered the skeleton of what evidently an Indian buried there se: veral centuries ago. Fire Destroys Roof.
Fire practically destroyed the root on the home of Homer S. Winters at Goshen early Thursday morning. The fire started in the kitchen from a defective flue, and made its way rapidly to the roof. The damage it was said will amount to at least several hundred dollars. : :

- Noah Steffen, living five miles east of Bluffton, was fined $5 and costs in a justice court, when he pleadec guilty to a charge of hunting out of season., He said he was cutting wood when his dog chased a rabbit ‘into @ hollow tree. He later captured the bunny. .
Dies in Oregon.
Jeptha P. Stutzman 87 who lived ir Clinton township Elkhart county most of his life until about 10 years ago when he went to Florida and latex to’ California died on February 21st last in Hubbard Ore., in the home of a daughter Mrs. Henry Lehman. :
War on Sparrows
Farmers of Allentownship in the vicinity of Allen Chapel Kosciuskc county staged a sparrow killing contest and 865 were killed. One evening after the contest was closed the losing side treated the winning side to an oyster supper. '

Lady Leaves Hospital.
Mrs. Forest Waldron of Brimfield was discharged from the Goshen hospital Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Waldron had been in the institution some days. .
