French home on account © fthe serious illness of their father. He was taken to the Methodist hospital at Fort Wayne Tuesday but at this writing no report of hig condition has been learned. . -Fire at Topeka. ‘ A fire at the home of Johns S’tutsl‘ man at Topeka Saturday ® morning caused considerable damage to the second story. The blaze started presumably from sparks from the chimney or electric wires. Mr! and Mrs. Stutsman were at home but: neither knew of the fire until the whistle blew. The roof and three rooms are a complete wreck but everything was salvaged from the house. The loss is covered by insurance. The Stutsmans wil Istay Wi)th their -daughter Mrs. H. P, Harrington. ‘ Freshmen Class Party. ‘ ~ The Freshman Class of the Ligonier High School was entertained Monday evening by Miss Dora Hite at the Hite home north of the wity, the trip being made in automobiles.
