Dies of Acute Indigestion. In Monday’sßanner brief mention was made of the death of Isaac W. Miller, Goshen contractor well known in this city. The deceased was 62 years of age and died suddenly Satur day evening of acute indigestion. Hr is survived by his widow and onc daughter. : , Mr. Miller had built many buildings in Ligonier. Among them the Isaac Straus residence the Elks temple, remodeled Citizens Bank and his last job here was the construction of the big additfon to the refrigerator plant. The gentleman was in Ligonier one day last week called here on business. -
May Face Manslaughter Charge. Charles Zumbaugh of Plymouth in charge of highway construction in Marshall county may have to face -g charge of involuntary manslaughtet as a result of the death in St/ Joseph's hospital South Bend Thursday ol Henry Keller aged 52 also of Ply mouth. " . A skull fracture received January 2 by Keller in the course of a fight with Zumbaugh is said to have cause. od his death. = = - Wawasee Property Involved. ‘William Dugan of Columbia City brought suit for specific performance of a contract naming Emanuel Click as defendant. Bandits said to have numbered 20 or 30 raided the Hammond Distillery company’s plant at Hammond which is used as a government warehouse ana according to the unique story of thrae guards forced them to drink whiskey until they were thoroughly intoxicat ed and then robbed the place of 6C barrels of the precious liguid. Dredging Wawasee Channel.
A new channel to connect Lake Wawasee with Syracuse lake is being dredged and has been practically completed. The new channel runs hetween Kale Island and Oakwood park and ground taken up by the dredge has been used to fill in the marshland on the south end of Kale Island. where a half dozen new building lots have been created. 4

Widow Gets Pension.
Frank L. Van Tilbury who was killed March 6 1923 while attempt.ing to pull J. H, Snyder of Coesse from the path of a Pennsylvania train is one of two Indiana men designated as a hero by the Carnegie hero fund commission and his widow will receive a bronze medal and benefits of $5O a month. .
