When the girl appeared for a marriage certificate she was ' questioned carefully ‘by Clerk Deter and _'deini‘ed she was a ward of the board of guardians but finally admitted she was a ward of the board at.one time.

Turn Down Salary Appropriation.

Believing that one of the paramount issues . of the present is tc curtail expenses as much as possible rather than create offices to increase taxes, unless it was of greatest necessity, the county council in session at Albion Saturday, turned down an appeal to appropriate $5OO for cler ical help in the office of County Agent Cunningham. This expense will be borne by the farm bureéau as in the past. Agent Cunningham said he would make the best of the situation and it is probable the work will not suffer to any great extent for lack of the appropriation. :
