THOMPSON A SUICIDE Kendallville Merchant Despondeni Over 11l Health Ends His Life v With Revolver. | John W. Thompson aged 57 proprietor of a bakery in Kendallville, suicided Monday by shooting a bullet into his brain from a revolver. He died in the hospital Tuesday morning. Mr. Thompson came to the Unites States from England when a lad and had been in business in Kendallville a number of years. He is survived by his widow. Despondency over in health is believed to have been the motive for taking his life. L
. = PARKS BLOCK THREATENED WITH BESTRUCTION BY BLAZE OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN Stock in Sunthimer General Storg Badly Damaged by Terrific Flood of Waler Fire which threatened the Parks Block in Topeka was discovered af close to midnight Monday and burned into Tuesday morning causing great damae to the cement building and the . F. Sunthimer stock of goods located therein. A stock of furniture came in for damage by water. The fire seems to havé originated in he stirway and crept up to the third story. Heroic work of the fire figh ters.saved a number of business rooms ‘rom destruection. . Merchant Sunthimer resides in Mid llebury and returned to Topeka just in time to see his 'store building in flames and his stock of goods threa’: sned with destruction. . The greatest loss to the -dry goods and furniture stocks was caused by water. It i thought ‘there is- adequate insurance to cover the loss. :
