Reports Auto Accident. Miss Mable Schwab, of Ligonier reported to the police of Elkhart tha a Ford sedan which she was driving collided ' with an Overland touring car driven by Lee Gushwa of South Berid on the Lincoln highway, twc miles east of Goshen, at 5:30 o’clock Thursday afternoon and both cars were damaged slightly. B A Ford touring car driven by El Pollock of Cromwell, collided Wednesday evening with a like machine driven by El man of Rural Route 6 Elkhart at Dunlap. Both cars werc damaged slightly.- : o Burglars Make Haul Burglars who gained admittance by removing the glass from a door or window robbed the Michael Copenhaver and John Gonderman store: the Floyd Middleton-Russell TUpson Auto Inn garage in Benton some timc Monday night of about $lO in money and $35 in merchandise and other articles it was reported to the police here. In all three instances the burglaries were accomplished so cleverly that neither of the owners of the stores who sléep in the buildings nor other residents were aroused.
Death of Dr. Benham,
Dr. Frank A. Benham, 72, a homeopathic physician in - Elkhart for 2¢ years, former court stenographer in in Goshen and once resident of LaGrange and Ligonier died at 11:30 Wednesday night of heart failure iu a private sanitarium in Indianapolis where he had been confined for a month. Funeral services were held in the home in Elkhart at 2:30 Friday afternoon. A son, brother and gister survive. ; ;
Woman Husks Corn.
Mrs. O. W. Dowell, residing near Wawaka spent six weeks in a field husking corn. She assisted in husking corn from 30 acres, including 11 acres of sweet corn. This is a great record for a frail little womn whdq has won distinction as a writer.
Arthur A. Chamberlain.
-Arthur "A. Chamberlain, age 62, a life-long resident of Goshen, died after a year's illness of complications He was well known as a brick mason Surviving him are his wife, twc brothers and twp sisters. _
Fall to Death.
John Bellensky, a native of Argen tina, fell 100 feet to his death at Goshen while working inside a brick smoke stack. His wife had just arrived and was waiting for him at the foot of the chimney. i '
That Thanksgiving Ball
The Thanksgiving ball given by the Elks was of unusual brilliancy and enjoyment this year. The attendance -was large, the . costumes beautiful and the musie all that could be desired. : '-

Robert, eight-year-ol dson of “Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Kammerer, three miles east of Kendallville died last week from dephtheria. No. other members of the family are so afflicted. L
Diphtheria at Albion.
A scare of diphtheria developed in the Albion schools and it was promptly quarantined and every pre: causion taken by the health authoritives to prevent a spread of the disease.
Slump in the Market.
There was & slump in the marriage in Noble county during the latter part of November. But one license Wag issued by Clerk Deter between November 10th and Thanksgiving.

Jacob Pollock, employed in Citizens Bank, was awarded the twelye-pound turkey at Koon’s cigar store last Wednesday evening. The bird was a fine one. >

Thomas Sorenson who died In Whitley county one day last week at the age of 69 years was the father of fourteen children. ’
