L Chub Tour June 25th. l The Shorthorn Calf Co-operating with the Noble County Shorthorn As-| sociation will conduct a - boys and girls club tour June 25th. All members and guests of the two crganizations will assemble in Albion from whence the tour will start at §:00 A ‘M. The first stop will be made in York township where a calf belonging to Martha Smith -will bé inspected. ‘Sucecessive stops will be made there. after to see c‘res ‘that are being fit‘ted by the following club members: ‘Harlan Mitchell, Floyd Swagger, Claude Surfus, lona and Ethel Alabaugh, Joe and Ho:ner "Trowbridge, Lee McConnell, Elmer Geiger and Dar yin-Bryan. At the last stop a short club meeting will be held at which a few speakers—will be heard. - A _pienic dinner - will he served wherever the party happens to be at noon time. Everybody going on the tour should take well filled baskets.

" Specialist to Visit Sewing Clubs. 'Miss Resina C. Kistner assistant club leader from Purdue will meet with the Noble County Sewing Club girls and their leaders Friday June 22. Two meetgligs ‘will be held, one ati Avila—in the school building at 9:00 ‘A. M. to accomodate township clubs in the Easternm half of the county as follows: Wayne, Orange, Jeffersen, ‘Allen, Swan and Green; the other-at Cromwell in the school, building at 2:00 P. M. to accomodate township ‘clubs in the western half of the county as follows: Elkhart, York Sparta ‘Washington, Perry and Noble. A short _sewing demonstration will be conducted at each meeting.

' The straw is used as an ingredient in the composition of Fordite, a material of.flint-like hardness and a de . velopment of the Ford Motor Company, from which ‘steering wheels are made and the Fordite plant at Highland Park supplies thése steering ‘wheels for all Ford Cars and Trucks Lwherever assembled throughout the world in the ‘United States, Canada land abroad and also for-use en Ford: lson Tractors. = 0 et

The Fordite plant begun about four years ago something as an experi ment, is at present produeing an average of 8,500 of these steering wheels daily under the manufacturing sche dule of three eight-hour ~working shifts six days a week. Subjected to the most minute inspection and given them ost exacting tests they are the strongest and ‘most durable steering wheels produced of ever-wearing quality, a bright lustrous black and superior in many ways to wooden steering wheels: ¥ « The straw for the Ford farm which is sufficient +in quantity for oniy about mine months’ manufacture after which straw must be purchased outside, is utilized following—# shedding process as a binder in making that part of Fordite which forms the core of -the steering wheel insuring a rim of exceptional strength.
