An alarm from zone sixteen Tues: day morning about ten o’clock called the fire department to the home of Garbage Master Gilbert Notestine in West Lawn addition where the small dwelling house, but recently bullt, was found in a mass of flames and being beyond. the reach of a fire hydrant it was totally consumed. Mr. Notestine lives alone ‘and how the tire started is somewhat of a mystery Mr. Notestine had gone to his barn, leaving his oil stove burning and he does not know whether there was an explosion or whether the fire was caused by something elge. - : The building and contests were totally destroyed with no insurance.

A very pretty wedding took place at the First Lutheran Church at 'Goshen Saturday June 9th at four-thirty o'clock, when Elsa Pauline "Sarnow, daughter of Antone Sarnow of Mil waukee, Wis., and Chester Biddle soa of Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Biddle of Ligonier were united in marriage by the Rey. Paul Brosy. The bride was dressed in white satin. With wveil, and wreath g; orange blossoms, car ried a shower bouquet of white and pink roses and sweet peas. : Miss . Frieda Sarnow sister of the bride and Howard Biddle brother of the groom were the attending witnesses. -The groom is.a popular young business man of Cromwell.. The couple will not go to ‘housekeeping in their home until October 1. sl i
"~ Temple of the Square Deal, * Next Sunday June 17th at 2:30 o'clock at South Whitley Ind, the cornerstone will be laid of the Temple of the Square Deal which-will house the administrative offices of the In-: ternational Association of Specialty Salesmen which has recently moved its headquarters from Chicago to South Whitley. This will be the first unit of a number of buildings which the Association hopes to erect dur: ing the coming two or three years, idevote'd to the needs of the dependent members of their organizatition and their widows and orphans. This Assoclation is made up of salespeople from all parts of oNrth America and a number of foreign couatries.
’ Martin-Straw, At the U. B, parsonage in this city last Sunday occurred a very pretty double ring wedding service performed by Rev. Parker uniting in the holy bonds of wedlock Edwin Martin, of Fort Wayne and Miss Netta Straw of Fremont. The bridal couple was ac‘companied by Omar Worthington of Moscow, Mich.,, and Miss Bernedine Uncoyder of Pleasant Lake. The newlyweds will make their home in Fort Wayne where the groom has a good position. = ) i
- N. Cavin Street Pavement. Finally the North Cavin street concrete pavement has been finished and the thoroughfare will be thrown open to traffic about July 4. It is a fine job and Contractor Mahoney is being complimented on the character of his work. Property owners mnow regret that the street was not made four feet wider on each side, but the improvement made at the expense of the county is thankfully received. What is known as the W. H. Loy road is now nicely improved all the way to the LaGrange county line. - Speeial Services at Cromwell. . Mannfled, chief of the fish and game division of the state ‘con' servation department, today pointed out that under state lgv%vs it is unlawful for any person to use trap for catching fish. unles sit be a minnow trap for obtaining: bait. : : Many persons have the erroneous impression that it is within the law to set a Trap ot larger mesh or of wire netting=-for turtle trapping; but to set such a trap or even to possess such the owner liable to arrest and prosecution. s ' ~ Mr. Mannfled points ont that the only trap one may lawfully use in any body of ‘water private or public, in this state to catch ' turtle must have the opening on top.
