At The Christian Church Sunday.

Morning Worship 10:30 subject “Some Modern Dangers to the Soul.” In the evening there will be'a union service of all citizens of Ligonier and community. The United Brethren choir will furnish a special. All singers from all the choirs in the town are asked to occupy seats on the platform. The speaker is announced elsewhere in this paper. Another old Resident Gone.

Mrs. Sophia Conklin aged 74 years lifelong resident of Noble county died Sunday morning at 9:30 o’clock at the county infirmary near Albion, where she was taken about three weeks ago from her home at Rome City. Death was due to complications with which she had been ailing the past year. Mrs. Conklin was born in Wayne township May 31, 1849 and had resided practically all of her life at Rome City. :

Mrs. J. K. Wilson of Kendallville suffered a number of painful bruises Monday afternoon when the machine in which she was riding with Mr. Wilson east of Butler was struck by another machine, the driver of which was a stranger and refused to give his name. However the' license number of the machine was taken. Both machines were badly damaged.

Will Hold One More.

Visitors participating in the party and pot-luck supper at the Elks home last Thursday night had such a fine time taht ‘another and the final one for the season will be held one week fron this evening. The winners of the prizes at the late party were: Bridge Mrs. George W. Brown, Mrs. Sam Selig, thum Mrs. S. P. Caruey and George W. Brown.

Makes Long Drive.

Ralph Lutey engaged in the real estate business in Cleveland, Ohic brought his mother, Mrs. J. F. Lutey who had been visiting in that ecity, home in his Chevrolet sedan Jlast Monday, making the long drive '250 miles in about eight hours. He returned home Wednesday. :

E. L. Harper Goshen landed-a bass in Wawasee the other day weighing four -pounds and five ounces. At torney Bothwell was after. a companion fish Tuesday but failed to over-take it. ° ;

~ Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Stern who will occupy the W. H. Wigton Diamond lqke cottage dyring the summer, are expected to arrive here in a day or two from their Florida winter home.

Many Baby Chicks.

A. B. Weaver Tuesday received by parcel post - from Churubusco 300 chicks and all alive but one. The babies were lively and chipper after their 24 hour confinement.

Now Able to Sit Up.

Mrs. Levi Chiddister so painfully injured in an automobile acgident a week ago is now able to be up and her complete recovery is not far off.
