Very Sudden Death.

Mrs. Pauline Roach 78 years old widow of James A. Roach was found dead in bed Monday morning at her farm home three miles southeast of Benton, the cause of death being pronounced heart trouble. Surviving are one son, Albert at home, one daughter Mrs. Jacob Girl two grandchildren, one brother Commodore Baker of Cromwell and two sisters Mrs. Newton Rarick of Ligonier and Mrs. Milt ‘Woods of Syracuse. ‘ Funeral services were held at 1:30 NWednesday at the home. Burial was made in the Hire cemetery. T

Series of Aecidents.

S. H. Hoover, ivory Olinghouse and Dwight Blackman arrived Tuesday evening from Detroit with three Ford cars for the Ligonier Universal Sales company. A Mr. Hoover learned 'of three accidents on the trip. A man was Killed at Wauseon, Ohio, by a N: Y. C. train an interurban car struck an automobile between Monroe and Toledo killing three, and the other mishap was-in Monroe where an’ engine struck a motor truck, but whether anyone was Kkilled was not learned. --1 i : i

While the ladies of the Goshen Womens’ Home Missionary society were being entertained in Benton last Sat - urday night a fiery cross was touched off near the Wabash railroad crossing at the Lincoln Highway taht caused a great deal of excitement among the people of that staid old village.

The Rocky mountain region was mantled with snow yesterday ranging in depth from nearly five inches in Denver to more than a foot in Cheyenne Wyo. The late snow will be of tremendous value to crops. -

George and Fred Starr will leave for Chicago tomorrow with two big motor vans to be used in moving the household effects of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Brubaker to Fort Wayne where the Brubaker family will take up their. residence. ,

Irwin Berkeypile of Benton the oldest man ni Benton township being 92 April 10, 1923 is slowly declining and does not get out doors but very little.
