Farm Demonstration Cars.
Three farm demonstration cars will be operated across northern Indiana April 10 to 21 by the agricuitural ex tension department of Purdue University and the Erie railroad. It was announced ™ here Monday. The cars will visit eleven towns and cities on the Erie spending one day in each place. L ‘The purpose of the train is to advance the agricultural development of northern Indiana in soils, crops, dairying and poultry. Specialisia from Purdue accompanying the cars, will conducft demonstrations give, lec: tures and radio concerts display educational films and explain exhibits. The cars now ‘are at the university and are being equipped. ;

Clyde A. Waib of LaGrangk, may. succeed Lawrence Lyons as Indians republican ‘state chairman. A move: ment: has been startgd in his behalf and a rather formidable element :i3 getting back of Mr. Walb who is known as “an efficient level headed politician.”” In the opinion of party leaders, Lyons has made himself impossible by his flirtations with the Ku Klux Klan. It is not believed there will be an immediate change. however, owing to Lyons’ = stubborn refusal to resign. The man from Brooke now claims his reason for joining the Klan K was to win votes for the republican party. -

Judge William E. Dever Democrat was. elected mayor of Chicago Tuesday by a plurality of more’ than 100, 000 votes over Postmaster Arthur C. Lueder, Republican in one .of ‘the quietest elections in the city’s his: tory. Into office with him went a Democratic city clerk and a Demo cratic city, treasurer. = - The trend of the eletcion in Michigan was favorable to the republicans.
Former Resident Dead.
Samuel Stafford age 78 former resi dent of Noble county and 'a well known retired New York Centrai passenger engineer and a veteran of the civil war, is dead at his home in Elkhart. Death was caused by hear: trouble and complications. = '

Margaret Jones five years old.dau ghter of Mrs. Gwilyn Jones of East Chicago died at the home of her grandmother at Valparaiso from an illness physicins said was caused by eating Easter candy. e
