PRELIMINARY MEETING CALLED - FOR THURSDAY EVENING -~ APRIL TWELFTH '
Much Encouragement Shown By A Who *Are Interested in Public . - Schools ok '
. The long felt need of a° Parent: Teacher Association is to be realized. A meeting has been called for Thurs day evening, April 12th. The teacher: have expressed themselves unanimously in favor of such an association and the parents thus far interviewed have promised to support the move ment. . S ena e There are very few towns in In - diana that do not have such an or ganization, and Ligonier has no desire to take a back seat in this mjatter. However that would not be sufficient reason for forming an association in this town. If gere is no crying need for such' a club it would be very foolish to form one. just for the love of organizing. - S : - This subject will be quite thorough: ly discusséd at the April 12th meeting -and if it is revealed that a closer cooperation between the teacher and parent -will ang in the solving of the ‘many problems that naturally arise in-the training and developing of our children, a permanent orgapization will be formed, officers will be elected and September will find ‘a Parent Teacher Association ready to function, : - e Every parent should -attend this preliminary meeting where an op-| portunity will be given to express his views on the subject. i i * The preliminary meeting will be held either in the high school assembly room or the publie library. i Supt: O. M. Craig of the Ligonier schools along with Miss Alice 'Vai lance, the teacher, have shown con: siderable interest in - this important matter and Miss Vallance has been named manager of Noble county by the state organization.. i : Tt is felt thatsthe present is™a pro pitious time for beginning the work of organization and ‘laying the foundation for a strong association in this. eity. : : 5 o :
