Wrecks Ford Sedan

. An elderly man accompanied be‘ his wife driving a Ford sedan from Rochester to Waterloo Monday came to grief in this city when his car skidded on the ice and struck the curbing in front of the Harry Selig residence. The driver thinking he had reached the Blazed Trail turned east at .the triangular park and.entereed the wrong street. The machine was taken to a- Ligonier garage for repairs and the aged couple took a N. Y.: C. train for their distination.

Will Ask Damages.

~Floyd O. Jellison former prosecuting attorney of St. Joseph county stated that he would bring acion in damages agains “Tolerance” an anti Ku Klux Klan paper published in Chicgo which stated that he was a member of the K. K. K. Mr. Jellison says he is not and never has been a member and he will not submit to the accusation. | i

Ryhl Burned to Death,

Charles Rurl aged: 22 was hurned to death in a fire which destroyed the interurban railway ear barns in South Bend Monday night entailing a loss to the interurban company of about $500,000. The young man was sleeping in-a car in the barn which was destroyed and his charred remgins were found later by the firemen. His home was in Mich{gan; TR

Dr. Elmer E. Morris 55 well known physician of New Haven was instantly killed Sunday. when his automobile was struck by a fast IndianapolisLima tractiol flyer. The .accident occurred at the ‘station crossing in New Haven while the doctor was re: sponding to a hurried call. g

May Reduce Salaries.

Members of the state board of accounts are working on a measure to be introduced in the legislature providing for the readjustment and equalization of salaries for county officers in Indiana. It is understood that\no salaries are to be increased but - that a.good many will be reduced. 2] AT ‘-
