Legion Elects Officers. , At a meeting Thursday night the Ligonier post American Legion elected the following officers: - Commander—Roy Rex ; Vice-Commander—Stanton Vance Adjutant—George Green ke Treasurer—Willis' Leming. The attendance was not as large as expected but those present showed a deep interest in th meeting. o | It is expected that a number of public - entertainments will be' put on by the post in the near fuure in order to give the people a chance to show their interest in the great worthy organization. : :

Shows Some Improvement. ; Dr. Black the attending physician, reports the condition of Carissa Le¢, the young girl who was so frightfully burned New Years day at the home of her foster grandmother Mrs Mary Wade as improving. The child has a fair chance to survive the horrible burns she received when her clothing took gire and burned from her body. Considerable skin grafting will be necessary hefore recovery can be complete. © ; : :

Schlotterback Sells Out. . Louis E. Schlotterback has disposecd of all his interest in .the Syracuse Manufacturing Co. to Elmer P. Miles and will now devote his entire attention to other lines. Mr. Schlotterback was president of thec ompany and Mr. Miles secretary. wMr. Schlotterback is a former resident of Ligonier and a live business man. . e

Ten black robed and hood: ed sentinels stood in the aisles and kept guard their identity not being disclosed. While . employed in the Highway Iron Products company Carl Shireman the other day met with a bad accident when a particle of steel struck him in the left arm below the elbow, severing an -artery and-the nerves. . Murder and Suicide, : Mrs. Hazel Parker colored was shot and instantly killed by her husband Joseph Parker 26 who then ended his own life by shooting himself. The tragedy followed a family quarrel that had been in progress for several weeks in their Fort: Wayne home. | Married in Chicago.’ Miss Mildred Reed a popular school teacher of Albion and .Bernard G.
