~~ Rat War Continmes, | Editor Banner. | - It may be of interest to some of the Banner readers to know how the Perry township drive against rats is progressing. Much interest was awakened in the township school from the start because of the cash prizes offered. BEvery spare moment out of school hours the boys are after the rats. ' A number have reported 30 and 40 killed. The girls are also muth interested in writing stories, essays and poems about the rat. Among the men there has not been quite so much enthusiasm but even they are now becoming -interested one man having reported 26 rats killed at a a meeting of the captains last Satur: day evening it was thought best to extend the drive one . week longer making it to close Dec. 11th instead of Dec. 4 thiss will give some who just learned that Perry township was mak‘ing war on the rat to get in the game. The latest repont show the west side of township quite a distance ahead of the east side and it looks as though.the latter must wake up and get busy or they will have to furnish the feed. However, which ever side { wins we will have a royal big feed at thec lose of the campaign. : | Let us ' ; | Yankee doodle, Keep it up ‘ | - Yankee doodle dandy.. - | Shoot them s : .
