~ Elkhart' Twp. -Prize Wimners. ~ Mrs. Paul Price won first premiury and Mrs. George Jourdan second for hand-knitting at the Elkhart township fair, Miss Bernice Gallup won first and Miss Jennie Gallup second premium for wool crochet work. Mrs. Dwight Mawhorter won first for silk art work, and Mrs. Paul Price toolk second premium, first premium for filet rrohhet was won bnyrs. Carrie Schwab, second by Mrs. George Jourdan, Mrs. Irvin Cobbs:and Mrs. Paul Price took first in tatting, and Mrs. Haven M. Way and Mrs. Irvin cobbs received second in tatting work, white and colored. - Mrs. Jesse Swank and Mrs. Charles Jourdan had charge o fthe fancy work & department of the fair. . Miss Grace Spuregon took first prize on a handmade quilt and Mrs. F. B. Mc-Cloug-han won second. Polly Grennawalt won first prize for apron made over the simplest pattern and Katheryn Shaw the sedond, Kathe({yn Shaw won the first prize for apron made by a child under 15 years of age, and Polly Greenawalt took .second, Miss Almaz Stigner won first premium for applique work and Mrs. Haven M. Way the second. Mrs. Audrey Stuff was in charge of the sewing department.

Will Strengthen the Board.

_ Those who desire the morthwestern portion of the county represented on the board of county commissioners, so that exact justice may be done to all sections of the county, should cast a vote Tuesday for Jacob Brumbaugh of Elkhart township. Mr. Brumbaugh has a higher aim than the mere honor of holding the position with ‘the small salary attached. He would like to be placed in a position whete he may serve the people with the same loyalty he serves his friends. The board of county commissioners wiil be strengthened with' Jacob Brumbaugh as a member. i

Drs. F. W. Black and C. G. Keehn Thursday evening attended -a meeting of,the Elkhart County Medical Association in Elkhart and listened to very fine addresses by Chicago specialists . HEgg.

Active at 96 Years.

Jocob Pfeiffer Thursday celebrated the 96th anniversary of his birth at his home néar Middlebury. The aged géntleman visits Ligonier occasionally and is quite active. : !
