Among those who attended the Cromwell chautauqua’ Monday evenng from this city were 'W. H. Wigton and -family, Mrs. 'W. C. B. Harrison and her guest from -Toledo, Mrs. C. W. Brown, Dr. and Mrs. C. G. Harry Thompson and family and many others.” The "attendance was highly gratifying to the management and the program was very pleasing. -

Before William B. Hile judge of the superior court at Elkhart Joe Sailor of Elkhart owner o fthe Goshen Fort Wayne bus line ' procured an order restraining Goshen city from enforcing the buss ordinance, Hearing has been set for August 7. The ordinance provides for special license fees and preferential streets. The route as outlined keeps the buses away from the street car lines.

Over a thousand were present at the closing day of the annual Epworth League institute held at the Oakwood Park Lake Wawasee, Certificates were issued to 496 persons who had attended all classes and taken the full course of study during the week with the Goshen district receiving the most certificates of amy of the six districts represented.

Helen Cutler, 5 daughter ‘of Mr and Mrs. Earl Cutler was burned to death near Ossian Sunday afternoon in an explosion of mysterious origin. Very Pleasant Oceasion.
" Mrs. Albert Weaver was hostess at their beautiful cottage on Ogden Island Thursday afternoon July 20 to the W. F. and H. M. society of the Presbyterian church. The- guests drove to the lake taking a bountiful picnic lunch which was served cafeteria from a_large table in the commodious dining room and thoroughly enjoyed by all presemt. @
After lunch the members assembled on the spacious porch and listened to a very interesting program on the work of the society.: s ‘A couple hours spent socially completed a very enjoyable day and the guests returned to their. homes" delighted with the outing. ‘
