Boys and Girls Tennis Tournaments.| Miss Allison Bolitho will - ‘have charge of the girls tournament. The girls have been very slow in ‘taking advantage of the tournament. Tennis is one of the cleanest and best games ever invented for boys and girls. It -gives thé best: of exercise. Is strenuous enough for the -most active and vet can be played with moderation by those who do not care to work so hard at it. It is a game two can play i the out of door so that almost any time two can get together for a good game. Girls as well as hoys should enter into this national sport for the pleasure and health giving features of the game. Dublin, June 28.—Irish republican insurgents were dri\{en" from -pa;ts' of the Four Courts this afternoon by fre¢ state troops who stormed the rebel stronghold under cover; of heavy artillery fire,. ¢ The isurgents under. Rorory o’Connor were reported clinging desperately to positions in the rear of the law courts. i .
- While this attack was in, progress, starting with the thunder of ‘cannonading at dawn, insurgent bands seized hotels, clubs, and houses in Rutland Square and the civil war. spread to this and other centers.. : ~ Soon all Dublin was involved in the battle. S g
‘Dublin awoke to the road of artillery fire after expiration of an ultimatum from Michael Collins to the rebels, calling upon them. to evacuate in compliance with British demands. A free state attack was then launched against the Four Courts. ‘ The rebels tore up paving blocks and built barricades behind which ‘they repulsed wave -after wave.of attack by free state troops. ’
Berlin June 28— The hospitals at Darmstadt are filled with wounded to day and many persons are dead as the result of two pro-republican demon-l strations by mobs. -#'he mobs rushed the homes of two nationalist members of the reichstag, demolishing = the furniture and compelling the nationalists to cheer for the republic. Later on a mob again attacked the nationalists. The police who attempted to protect the nationalists were attacked. ‘ N
STALLED CAR DEMOLISHED Churubuseo Farmer Has Skull Fraetured, Son Broken Leg Patients at o Lakeside : Harry Weller and son Russel age nine of near Churbusco had a most miraculous escaped from being killed at ‘a grade crossing one mile and a half north of Huntertown late Tuesday afternoon when an automobile in ‘which they were riding stalled oh the tracks and was struck by nerth bound passenger train on the Pennsylvania lines. The train crew took the victims ‘to Kendallville, ' Harry Weller was the most seriously injured. He sustained a fractured skull, and cuts and bruises on the shoulder and right leg. He was suffering intense pain today and it is fear ed he may have been internally injure,d . S % The son sustained the fracture of his right leg and minor bruises. ' The automobile was demolished.
o -+ Obituary. . - Margurite Thresse Kenney daughter of Maria Fox Kenney and the late John Kenny was born at the old homestead August 31 1875, her entire life being spent there and in this city with the exception of the year she attended. St. Mary’s Acadamy South Bend Indiana, Her sudden death occurred Wednesday June 21 1922 at Mansfield General Hospital. © She leaves to mourn besides her aged mothg’ three brother Henry D. of Mansfield, -Ohio, John P. of this city and Robert Edward at home one niece-and two nephews, Gertrude E. John H. and G. Martin all of Mansfield, Ohio. The father and two sisters preceded herin death one sister dying in infancy and Elizabeth Kenney Dwyer.” Funeral services were held from St..Johns’ Catholic church Saturday morning at 10 o’clock, Rev.
