George G. Scovil who ‘recently returned from California says he notes a great difference in the atmosphere, While the -weather gets just as hot in the Golden state as it does in Indiana it is always cool in the 'California shade and there is a compl’et‘ei ‘absence of the humidity which is so depressing here. , : i Mr. Scovil says Dr. J. F. Gard who practiced medicine in iLgonier years ago recently suffered a slight stroke of paralysis and is nots o active. He is about eighty-two years of age and resides in a beautiful home in Santa Anna. :

~ Charles Morrell a - former Ligonier resident is sales manager for the Shely Safe Co., on the coast and. is making a great success, Mr. Morrell resides in Los Angeles, ; : - Harry B. Stone has purchased ‘a fine home in Glendale a suburb and a very fashionable one, of Los Angles and is prospering. ~ Robert Maggart who was appointed postmaster by President Wilson three years ago and reappointed by Presisident Harding last year will resign as postmaster at Cromwell on July 1 and enteg upon theduties of the rural mail carrier on route two. The change is efefcted at the request of Mr. Maggart as his health and indoor life do not agree. An examination will be held in a few days to determine ‘who will succeed Mr. Margart and no doubt a large number of applications will -be filed for the position—Cromwell Advance, S o
