Chan Hile pleaded guilty in the Noble circuit court to violation of the prohibition law was fined $lOO and sentenced to six months in jail but the jail sentence was suspended pending good behavior. ' :

ICabatkin Bowling Club.
~ The Cabatkin bowling club which has been bowling every Wiednesday evening during the winter concluded its season with a splendid chicken dinner at “The Sign of The Kettle” a new tea room just opened by Mrs. Aldeen Strieby and Mrs. Leecock at Syrcause. ;. i\ , ~ This farewell party was given in honor of the ten highest bowlers. The whole club: returned with glowing accounts of the wondeful dinner served and heartily | recommend the Tea room to all “lovers of good food.”
Another Concrete Road.
The board of Elkhart county ,commissioners agreed to build part of the road from the Lincoln highway in Benton township to the Kosciusko line of concrete instead of improving the entire distance of four miles with gravel. Many tax payers urged permanent improvement of the road on account of the heavy traffic. The building will commence at.the Kosciusko county line. ‘
Remembers the Church, The will of Leah A. Ebersole whose home was in Wakarusa was probated Wednesday. After disposing of $9OO which was bequeathed to the Mennonite Board of Missions with directions as to how it is to be' divided. in amounts of from $5O to $lOO to a number of branches of the 'mission the will directs that $2OO shall go to Rev.
