Tonsil Operation Fatal. ' ‘Glen C. Biller residing at the home of his father-in-law John W. Slabaugh at Goshen died of heart disease Monday morning while undergoing operation for removal of tonsils by Dr. A. S. Hollingsworth and Dr. A. C. Yoder at the office of Dr. Hollingsworth. One tonsil had been removed and the physicians had started on the other when the patient expired. . ;

New Clubs File,

The New For Senator Club of Marion county spent nearly $25,000 in the April{nary campaign. The Vigo .county' club spent $2,108 and there .are many similar eclubs and Senator New to hear from. The total amount it is estimated spent for New in the campaign will reach from $75,000 to $lOO,000. i :

Failed to Support Child.

.Orpheus Coplan d a young farmer re siding east of Waterloo was sentenced to the state reformatory at Jeffersonville to a term of Ito 7 years for failure to provide for his youngchild. It was the second time he had been in the DeKalb cireuit court for the same offense. ° - .

Meclntire-Fought.

The marriage of Miss Ruth Fought daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Fought and Harry E. Mcllntire only son of E. D. Mcllntire of Topeka was solemnized Saturday evening at the M. E. parsonage. The bridegroom is a world war veteran having served overseas. : .

Aged Woman Dead.

Isabelle Neal 81 years was found dying in the bath room of her home at Albion 'at noon Monday. She lived but a few minutes after she was discovered alone in ‘the house. Surviving are two daughters and a son. .

Ball Game Sunday.

Date is Canceled.

Manager Lowe of the Ligonier ball team, canceled the game with North Manchester for Decoration Day out of respect to the occasion. Garrett will play here June 4. _

Will Call Friday.

The finance committee of the G. A. R. will make a round Friday to secure the necessary funds to meet the expense of Decoration Day. - All should contribute to so worthy a cause. o

Raise in Assessment,

The state board of tax commissioners has raised the appraisement of the Indiana & Michigan Electric company from $4,996,340 to $5,969,000, which is quite a jump for the company.
