Merle Ramsby Married. _ The following is from the South Bend News-Times: . ; “The marriage of Miss Irene J. Stickley daughter of Mr. and Mrs.i John E. Stickley and Merle Ramsby took place Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the parsonage of Rev. B. D. Beck. The attendants were Mrs. Alba Collins and Jesse Bowman. Following the ceremony dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents to the immediate families. After a wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Rafisby will be at home in South Bend.” Mr. Ramsby is a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Ramsby of this city and spent his youth here. - Twelve more Amish residents of LarGange county will be prosecuted for violating the school attendance law. The complaints were filed by the county superintcndent of .schools on order of the state school superintendent of public .instruction.

' Bloomington, Ind., March 29—Noble county high school pupils are eligible tc competition in an essay contest on "‘Good Roads” for a $4OOO scholarship prize offered by H. S. Firestone the lAkron, Ohio, rubber manufacturer. - ~ The scholarship icovers any fmi‘?_ vear coure desired in any institution of higher ledrning in the United States and has.a value of not less ‘than $4OOO. The contest is for the purpose of stimula,t’ing interest in i‘gfiod roads and in problems of transportation. = Package libraries conItaining exhaustive information on the subject will be furnished high school pupils whose auspices the contest is being conducted' in this state. Under the rule of *the contest schools.in the state will carry on elit mination contestg and the three bes essays from each school will be.toxi—warded by the principal .to Prof. Cavanaugh under postmark not latter than May 15. The best essay among those submitted by high school pupils of Indiana will then be selected by a competent committee and forwarded to the Highway and Highway Education Committee, Washington, D. C., where it will be placed in competition with wininng- essays from each state and territory of the Union. The essay is limited Yo 700 words. .
