Largest Sale of Season,

[ Auctioneer E. R. Kurtz reports the ‘Bordner and Beers sale held Friday ;at the Bordner farm near Eagle lake the largest of the season the total receipts being $10,407.60. Owing io the bad roads the sale had to be postponed from the first of the week until Friday and it was feared the assemblage might be small, but an immense crowd of buyers were present and everything sold well. Cows sold from $5O to $lOO, feeders from $25 to $65, feeding hogs averaged $2O a head, pigs just weaned averaged $6 a head and sheep sold from $lO to $13.75. A team of mules brought $4lO and a top horse $175. Chickens sold at $1.25, corn 67 and oats 49 cents a bushel. e i

Noe Buys Ligonier Property.

Paul Noe agent for a federal land bank and a former resident of Ligo‘nier has purchased the Harry Gilbert residence property on . South Cavin street and will take possession in a few days. Mr. Gilbert will oc. cupy the Green flat recently- vacated by Mr. and Mfs. ePte Regula. Three years ago Mr. Noe resigned his position with the Straus Brothers company and moved to a Sparta township farm. Later he received an appointment jin the U/ 8. Land department and will continue in this work while a resident of Ligonier.. -

Munton te be Opposed.

~ E. G. Ludwig of Fort Wayne engineer on the Pennsylvania railroad, Thursday announced his candidacy for the state senate from Allen and Noble counties. He has been identified with the Pennsy lines for -the past eighteen years. Mr. Ludwig is a republican. L When seen” C. J. Munton of Kendaville former state senator who is being urged by his friends to be a candidate for joint senator from Noble and Allen counties said he had not made any definite decision as to whether he would enter the primary race in May. Leming Buys Property.

- The Schlotterback property advertised for sale in the Banner by Bothwell & Vanderford has been sold to George -R. Leming residing on rural route No. 1 out of Ligonier. The property congists of a residence and five acres of ground on West Union street near the Frank P. Woods country home, It is understood that Mr. Leming will leave his farm and take up a residence in the property bhe just purchased. The gentleman is a progressive farmer and he will be welcomed to Ligonier. - '

After a long and-useless delay.in debate the Four-Power Pacific Pact wag ratified by the U. S. senate Friday” afternoon by a vote of 67 t 027.

Will Hold Public Sale.

George R. Leming who recently purchased Ligonier property with the intention of taking up his residence here will have alpublic sale April 5 or 6. when he will dispose of all his stock and farm implements including horses, cattle sheep, hogs hay and grain. The exact date of the sale will be announced later. o

Attend Culver Shoot.

Cromwell’s four famous marksmen were participants in the Culver rifle and revolver shoot the othier day., They are Col. Milo D. Snyder, John Gorsuch, Dewey Lecount and Leland Holderman and they bore off their share of the honors.
