Morve Alley Crumbs.
The Williams team was beaten by | the Green team last week by six pins, |’ if was a closely contested gamel| throughout like that of the week be-|. fore, and spiced by the usual amusing incidents and personal peeuliari- | ties. There was much spectacular,} For instance: P : ~ She rolled ‘the ball quite genily, | Seemed sure to make a strike, : -But just before it got there . It shied right off to right. | Again she rolled most hopefully, e But now with added pep, . But just before it got there - It shied right off to left. - ~ There stood the shinning maples, | Despair writ on her face, . _ Her dream of strike mow o’er : She sought her resting place. - = - But what of it, anyhow? She was not the only ,pebble on the beach to capfure a ‘“goose egg.” At any rate all things don’t come one’s way, We can’t expect it. It isn't to be so in the game of life, Even a . pair of flip-flapping galoshes don’'t always flap in unigon, but whether the fair wearer herself ig distressed by the discord, perhaps will remain a deep} mystery. ' But then there are others. ‘Some of our-bunch still persist in trying to bowl on more than one alley at the same fime seemingly forgetful that the law of gravity still works. It’s bad business can’t be worked successfully. If the ball could be liberated from a cannon it might be different, but we are not us-| ing cannons. They are barrved. - | What we need is a cinema or movie camera to show the human form divine in action, Why Hollywood| ‘wouldn't be anywhere in this ‘line. Jor instance there's the purveyor of jukstice who grabs his ball then blows into it as if giving it the breath. of life for its journey ‘the tall man who makes a hop, skip and jump; as iff doing a hurdle act, then stops somehow on the brink, and lets go; the stone man who crouches like a tiger ready: for its prey, then lunges as if in ‘deadly combat with some imaginary foe; then the soft pedaled: fellow who stealthily ereeps forward as if loaded for hear when the quarry is located, and so on. Then again the ladies; well, it just can’t be told. It does beat all how indispositions miraculously spring up during a | game—ills, too, that would not-na-turally be expected to add to one'’s score that's the strangest part about {it. It points to an amazing coinci- | dence. The victims recover with marvelfo’us speed however, after leaying the alleys. Fresh air, no doubt. Semetimes it seems like a full fledged’ sanitarium ,up there, sans- -doctors: nurses and operating room. oy Well, we've been having a “grand and glorious time’ 'dnyhow like a big family together, with nothing to mar or jar but old Father Time. will spon have ticked off these pleasambewinter events leaving only in their wake a golden flood of memories to bridge us over the coming summer days.
