Robert Wigton in whose honor the celebration was held is well known in Ligonier where he often visits. A 'daughter, ,Mrs.__Will Hyland, of ERaton, Ohio was present and accompanied the W. H. Joseph Steininger driver of the truck was fined $555 and the beer- was poured into a Laporte sewer. s

‘ ~ Circuit Court i The New York ‘Cemtal Railroad Co. is made defendant in a suit for damages for $257.07 filed by Samuel Selig et al., of Ligonier. In 1919 the plaintiffs shipped 90 hogs to a commission merchant at Buffalo, N. Y. for sale at that place. The shipment was delayed enroute and arrived too late for sale at its destination, causing extra expense and loss to the amount asked.

Farmers Eelet Officers. Perry township federation of farmes held a very interesting session at the Trittapoo school house Thursday evening when a musical and literary program was tTendered. Warren Moore : The organization is in a very 'prosperous condition and a good line of work was mapped out for the coming year. - C. E. Bidwell for many years cashier of the Albion National Bank, has resigned to accept a' similar position in Canton, Ohio, and will begin his new duties January Ist, 1922. To Complete Work Next Year, Lawrence Lyons . director of the state highway commission, announces that all the unpaved portions of the Lincoln Highway in Indiana will be paved next year and contracts for this work are soon to be let. This means the hard surfacing of the gap between Fort Wayne and Ligonier. When this is paved and a short stretch just east of Valparaiso the Lincoln Highway will be paved the entire distance across Indiana. -

Peter Harris Held Up, : ~ Peter Harris proprietor of a garage in Fort Wayne was shot in ,the leg by a highwayman Thursday night when he refused to stop the car in ‘which he and his little son were riding in the rolling mill district of that e¢ity. By not heeding the commands of the bandit Harris saved $lOO he carried in his pocket. . : Philip March 21 was instantly killed while trying to repair an arc electric light on a street of Fort Wayne Thursday. - -

Alva Hamilton Hurt. : Alva Hamilton of Goshen contractor who some time agp made repairs on the Ligonier high school building was seriously hurt last Thursday when his automobile upset in the city - of Mishawaka. ; Death of Mrs. Ernest.
