Granted New Trial.
Judge Sol A. Wood at Fort Wayne bhas sustained the motion for a new trial filed by attorneys for Chirles Arches who was convicted and given a fine of $750 and costs and in 150-day jail sentence by a jury in the circuit court Moanday on a charge of assault and battery following an encounter with Vernon Ward, a fellow employee of the General Electric company, last October Ward lay unconscious for nnnl‘ }dan as a result of a blow with a heavy wrench and Archer was igdicted for assault and battéry with intent to kill. The jury found him guilty of the less serious charge by imposing ‘a2 penalty which meant| nearly three years in jail if the fine and cost were not paid.

~ Charging that she spent his money buying present for other men, John Sechler of Fort Wayne is seeking a divorce from Minnie Sechler. He alleges that she prefered candy kitchens chop suey parlors and rag time music to her home and that she associated with “tin horn gamblers.”

Catherine A. Straub of Goshen widow of Finton A. Straub Tuesday reached her 89th year. Mrs. Straub {s in excellent health. She came to Goshen from Marietta, Ohio 60 years ago. Mrs. Staub is the mother of three daughters and two sons.
