He moved from Ohio to Indiana in his boyhood, but fifty two years ago he went to lowa where he lived (0 the close of ltfe. He was never married, or actively connceted himself with any church, but was clean and upright in his Ifte, always public spirited and ready to give a helping hand to those who were in need about him. 'For thirty years or more he was actively and promiently connected with the Masonic order. always giving the Fraternity his best devotion and ::h'm'-.‘ iy - - - . For five years his niece Mrs. Clara ‘Bales had Jived with him in his western home and he was all to her that a }devotod father possibly could have been. They were preparing to come 10 l‘umnlor to spend the winter with his rshser Mrs. Phoeba Johnson when exposure brought on pneumonia and ‘quickly .ended his days ‘His niece Dbrought him here for burial and hia remaine quietly sleep in the Ligonier cemetery, awalting . the final and

Indianapolis, Dec. 13- The Indizna Federation of Farmers Association, completely reorganized for the coruing year, is looking forward to a strennous campalign of activities during the winter months. Many important plans which have been working to a head and have been under careful consideration by the board of directors and executive committee for some time will be formally announced before long. The election .during the last week of President John G. Brown of Monon, by the American Farm Bureau Federation at its annual convention in Indianapolis to a position on the executive committee of the national organization will bring the Indisna farmers in close touch with -national problems which should serve as a benefit to the Hoosier agriculturists ‘ e :
