Cream shortening and sug:: together; uds milk to ten Ofl‘l and Dbeat again; @ slowly to creamed shortening and sugar; add nutmey and fllvor{u' add 2 cups flour sifted with baking powder; add encugh more four to make stiff dough. Roll out very thin on floursd board; cut with cookie cutter, sprinkle with sugar, or put a raisin or a plece of Engligh walnut in the center of each, Bake übout 12 minutes In hot oven. Cocoa Drop Cakes 4 tablespoons ahorteuing d cup sugar - legw cup milk : 1% cups flour . . & teaspoons Royal - Baking Powder - cup eocoa teaspoon salt teaspoon vanilla Cream sghortening: _ add #ugar and = well-béaten cgr: beat well and add milk slowly; sift flour,. baking powder, salt and cocoa into mixture; stir until smooth, andd vaniila. Put one tablespoon of batter into each greased rhuffin tin- and bake in moderate oven about 20 minutes. Cover with bolled lcing.
