’ The League Lives. ' ‘The Philadelphia Public Ledger favored the League of Nations—even the “Wilson league.” i But when the test came it supported Harding who said at Des Moines that he would have nothing to do with it—on the theory that. Harding was louble-crossing the enemies of any
league. - ' ' : o Just now .its correspondent, Carl Ackerman, is at Geneva attending the sessions of theé assembly of the league And this is what he says: L “The second day's sessions of the L.eague of Nations' assembly added coal té the fires of enthusiasm burng in the hearts of the delegates of these forty-two nations: Everywhere one goes one hears the same expression ‘t'his assembly is very much alive.” ts .
Another sald, “Senator Harding would have a difficult time looking for a corpse here,” and tonight, after the close of the fourth session, I met 1 number of delegates on the floor, Lord Robert Cecil, Lidjof Nansen, Hjalmar Branting. Ignace Paderewski and Viscount Ishii, and they were ail enthusiastic. o ' “‘This assembly has teeth,” was Nansen’'s comment.” . - ' Why are those republican newspapers opposing the league of nations during the campaign so very silent now? Do they see a new light or was their opposition merely feined?

Had Lost Falth In All Medicines— Now Regrets She Did Not Take After tweny years of suffering I am at last a well and hapy woman and il all because of the splendid resujts ! have goten for Tanlac,” was the statement made by Mrs. John Carmack of 404 East Jackson Street, Bloomingtun, 1L : .
“Twenty years ago my heaith begen to- faill, and gradually grew worse until a short time ago 1 suffered a complete nervous breakdown and "““1 simply a wreck. 1 had indigestica so bad that | was almost afraid mmj anything. My stomach pained mo! nearly all the time and 1 would m:m} up with gas something ewful. Somc-.i times my whole body seemed racked with pain and I was in such agony [ could hardly stand it. [ could retain scarcely a thing on my stomach, and a 8 a result, I lost strength and energy until it was an effort for me to get around.. My nerves were in dreadful condition and any unusual noise would upset me terribly. 1 simply could not sleep to do any good ani every morning I got up worn compiete1y out. 1 had lost faith in all medicine as 1 had tried so many without getting \rvhe(. and [ feit that 1 would have to give up entirely. : . 1 heard about Tanlac nearly a vear ago, and a short time ago when one of my friends recommended it to me s 0 highly 1 made up my mind to give it a trial. And now my only regret is that I didn’t take it a year ago, for it has restored my health completely and after ‘all these years of suffering I am now a well woman. My appetite is just splendid and it makes no difference at all what I eat 1 can digest it. I never have a pain or ache of any *kind and I am not at all nervous or restless, My sleep is sound and refreshing and of mornings I get up feeling just fine and ready to attend to my housework. My friends aro all surprised to see how 1 have changed and I never fail to tell them that Tamnlac did it.” , : Tanlac is sbld in Ligounler by S.
