For 30 years she taught in the Goshen public schools and served as principal ‘for 20 years. - . Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Shallenbarger, son Harold and John Barrett, of Grand Rapids, Mich.,, came in thelr automobile and visited Mr. and Mrs. John Shallenbarger. . Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Morris and daughter Lucile motored over from Elkhart-and took Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Jackson out to the Esra Chapman farm for a chicken dinner.
W. H. Favinger and W. A. Cochran were chosen by the Noble County Farmers- Association delegates to the state convention to be held in Indianapolis November 15 and 16. John W. Long aged 19, a former recruiting officer for the U. S. army was arrested at Goshen for uttering and! floating bad checks. Kentucky, Illinois, lowa, Oregon and all the ‘states north of them, and both Canadas. : ' He has served his community as justice of the peace for four years. Had several cases appealed to a higher court, but in every instance his judgment was affirmed. ‘ He is now a notary public one: of the directors of the Farmers' Smte\ -bank of Wawaka, and also secretary! and has served the township as a member of the council. He is now the president of the Noble County Farmers’ Institute and hase been for the last four years. i In his religious work he has been Sunday school teacher, superintendent, church clerk, deacon, pastor 25 years, president state Young People's society, vice president of Y. P. General Society of U. 8. and Nova Scotia for eight years, president for:several years of the Denominational State association, three times elected to the general conference, and for six years a member of the conference board, which met annually once at Hillsdale once at- Cleveland, once at Harper's Ferry, once at Boston, once at Ocean ‘Park, Me., and once at Providence, R. 1. The general conference he attended met at Minneapolis, Minn. Hillsdale, Mich., Cleveland, 0., Harper’s Ferry, Lowell Mass., Ocean Park, Me., Fair Port, N. Y.
