Uriah Franks was born in Wayne county Ohio April 23 1544 and died a the home of his sister Mrs. Jane McFarland in Wawaka, Indiana Aprfl 1, 1920 aged 76 years 11 months § days He came. with his parents to Indiana when a'young man, and settled in Noble county Jefferson Township, where he married Miss Eliza Foster, and continued a residence there until his wife died in August 189 S : Mr. Franks was one of a family of eleven children, all of whom Wwith his parents have preceeded him in death except oue brother - Joseph Franks of Alblon and one sister Mrs. Jane: McFarland of Wawaka He never united with any churen, but always held to and attended the Old School Baptist chureh of which his wife was a member ,and died in that faith. - 5 %

His funeral was conducted -in the Methodist church in Wawaka, April 4 by Rev. T. J. Mawhorter. Many relatives and friends assembied ‘lo pay a tribute of respect. The interment was in the Sweete cemetery. =~ Marrled In Wawaka. :

Mr. Mawhorter was born and reared in Elkhart township, and is the brother of Rev. T. J. Mawhorter who pronounced the words that make the happy couple one, in- the presence of the bride's family and a number of the grom's relatives.
