United States Fuel Administration Order Restricting Lighting

On Mondays and Tuesdays of each week, commencing July 29, and 30, 1918, the following order issued by the U. 8. Fuel administration will govern the use cf lights, other than for public lighting, which is subject to modificatign hereafter from time to time, and at any time.. e 1. The use of light generated or produced by the use ov consumption of coal, gas, oil or other fuel, for illu ‘minating or displaving advertisements, announcements or siéns, or for the external ornamentation of any building shall be entirely discon: tinued on Monday and Tuesday nights of each week.

2. The use of light generated or produced by the use or consumption of fuel for illuminating or displaying any shop windows, store windows or any signs in store windows shall be discontinued on Monday and Tuesday nights. e ey 3. On nights other than Mondays and Tuesdays, outdoor lights within a city, village or town, other than for publie lighting which involve. airectly or indirectly the use or consumpt'on of coal, oil, gas or other fuel, shall not be lighted until tuirty minutes after sunset. ' !

The county fuel admidistrator is directed and authorized by the state fuel administrator to see that the provisions of this order is observed and carried out, to report violations thereof tothe U. o Death of Asa Leming Asa Leming, for a half century a respected resident of Ligonier died at the family home abou# 8 o’clock Friday night after a long iliness aged more than seventy-five years., The deceased served withan Ohio regiment in the civil war and was a member of Stansbury Post G. A. R. He was a conscientious, upright wan and huad a large circle of friends. He is survived by his daughter Georgia Leing at home a son Frederick of FKort Wayne. The funeral occurred from the late residence at 2 o’clock * Mon: dao afternoon and was under the auspices of the G. A: R., the Liberty Guards acting as pallbearers.
