Mr. Simon J. Straus reports that there seems to be a miscouception on the part of the public a 8 to why the scales of Caldwell Grocery company, McKahan & Dowell and C. F. Graham were tested one day last week. It seems that some doubt existed as to whether the scales agreed with each other and Mr Straus’ automobile being convenient at that time, and the question as to the accuracy of the scales coming up, the automobile was filled with people and weighed on the various scales. This was done purely for the satisfaction of the various scale owners and Mr Straus wdshes tostate that it was not done on account of any dissatisfactéon on the part of their firm so far as the weights were concerned that they bad been gettins from MeKahan & Dowell on coal.
