Ott—* Sour grapes which some people would call a study in heredity, is more thao that. It isa study of the moral circumstancés and social conditions that arise out of the great law of heredity, Mr. Ott thinks it is too late in the world’s history to argue about heredity. If there are still some unscientiflc philosophers. it is something to deplore; but the natural inferences that grow out of the fact of inherent character have not been sufficiently emphasized.

C. M. Kinney hss resigned his position as cashier at the Citizens Baok, | This course was mado necessary on occount of Mr. Kiunney'’s health, which has been failing for the past year. His eyes were also badly affected and his condition would not improve under most vigorous treatment. His resignation was most reluctantly accepted by Col. S. J Straus and the other members of the firm for they all have he highest confldence in Mr. Kinney and his work ‘bas been most satisfactory. He has been with the bank for over seven years, having come here from Kendallville, where he had been a trusted employe of the Noble County Bank. [Mr. Kiuney's physicians have ad--vised him that be must get out of doors into the fresh air, and this he will try to do, and hopes to regain higs old time vitality. He will continue his residence in Ligonier. ,

The Parland-Newhall company recently hit upor a new plan to secure testimonials that were really valuable. They engaged a third party to write to each point where they appeared, asking for an unbiased criticism as to their work. The results were remarkable in the unanimous praise of company, even though the writers did not know that the members of the attraction would ever see the letters. Every letter received was highly complimentary to this great compauny and the great work they were doing.
