James Hagerty is in the jail at Albion, charged with child stealing. ‘He was arrested at Lagrange last Friday at the instance of his father-in--law. James Fink of near Wawaka. Hagerty and wife had parted and Mrs, Hagerty was working in this city. A two-year-old child was at the home of of Mrs. Hagerty's parents, when Hagerty took a notion that he wanted the little fellow. He got a livory rig. drove to the Fink home and foreibly abducted the child. He took the child to Lagrange whers, Mr. Fink found bim and brought him back home. ,

Albert Poyser, late postmaster at Cromwell, is now on his way to the national prison, at Fort Leavenworth lowa, where he will remain for 18 months. Poyser pleaded guilty last Thursday of using postofilce funds for paying private debts. His shortage was about $4OO all of which he had made up however before his arrest. Poyser was running & grocery in .connection with the office -and this seeins to have Been a losing venture for the money went to Faying bills for goods. Olin B. Guiley was acquiited Ilast Friday of the murder of his brother-in-law, Edwin Wright,at Rome City last February. The jury was out all night but it is said that they stood 11 to 1 for acquittal early in the evening. Guiley made agood impression on the witness stand and the jury evidently took the view of many of the people who knew all the circumstances that he was justified in striking the blow. He will return to Missouri in a few weeks accompanied by Mrs. Wright, his sister, the wife of the dead man. .
