ILLINOIS REPUBLICANS.

Gathering af Springfield for State Convention—lndiana Democrats to Meet.

,Springfield,{ IL, May 11.—All of the candidates fof places on the republican state ticket were ljére Tuesday morning, and incoming delegates rapidly filling the hotels. [The gossip nearly all relates to the Jcombinations that are expectgd ‘to bekmade for the convention organization, and for the naming of the head of the ;ticket.' The consensus of opinion just now is that Yates, Lowden and Warner| will try to control both organization and nomination. There is, however, ’a. wide difference of opinion -as to whether ‘such a combination will be able to name the nominee for governor, even tth)ugh it may succeed in getting control of the organization. There is no doubt that the three candidates named will have an aggregate following that will constitute a large majority of the convention, but it is uncertain- that Jheix{ control over their del~ egates is strong enough to give one of the trio the nomination. : The state committee of 120 took a recess .to two o’clock, after disposing of the contests|in Sangamon, Fayette and Fulton. In all of these the Yates delegates were seated. e
