--The attendance at the greenback convention, at Albion, on Saturday last, was rather small. The main portion of those present came from Orange township, we are told. : -~ The residence-of a Mr. Smith; living near Ripley, in Jefferson township, was burned 1o the ground on Friday last: Most of the household goods were saved. Loss not known.

- —Thére was a large crowd in attendance at the Catholic dedication at Avilla, on Sunday last, but it would Lave been twiee as large had it been pleasant weather iu the morning. | —The Allen éount.y Democracy wilk nomiuaté a county ticket on the 22d day of June. A sal misfortune occurred in the family of W. S, Davis, Clay twp., last week.- Their little child, Ross, aged nearly 21 months, strayed out irito the barn-yard to play, and when searched for was found dead beneath a wafign box.
