FROZEN TO DEATH. SAD END OF A WEALTHY KOSCIUSKO : ‘COUNTY FARMER, He 1s Found Reclining on a Fence, Lifeless and Stiff. = Harvey Guy, a farmer living about four miles south of :Syracuse, was frozen to death last Friday while.in a state of intoxication. Tt seems that Mr. Guy had gone to Syracuse in the morning, and, in company with some comrades, began drinking freely. At about 11 o’clock he started home and was seen crossing the raileq’ad. But when night came he had not yet reachled home, and -his ‘wife, becoming alarmed, sent some of the neighbors in search of him. They went to Syracuse, where they learned that the comrade of Mr. Guy had taken the train for Cromwell, enroute to Ligonier, and supposing that Mr. Guy had accompanied him, they returned home, But the next morning came and ‘the missing man had not yet returned. Mrs. Guy, not feelihg 'satisfied with the search of the previous evening, sént again in pursuit of her husband. At Syracuse a squad of men volunteered to search the woods be'tWeen that place and' Mr. Guy’s farm, and the result was the finding, about one mile from town, in the woods, of the lifeless form of Mr. Guy. He was standing upon one foot; with his head: leaning. upon his hands, against the fefice, frozen stiff, His body was taken to Syracuse, where an inquest was held." bR : ‘The deceased is said to have been well respected by his neighbors. Liqnor was his chief enemy. He was about fifty-five years of age and had accumulated property worth about $25,000. IFe leaves a wife but no ehildren to mourn his untimely death.
