The P hrenological Journal does not believe baldnesé results. wholly or chiefly from mental activity. The rare cases of partial baldness among women, the Journal attributes to sickness ; while' [men incur partial or total loss of capillary covering “from over warm and air-tight Liats,” and through the rapid growth of beards, which “take 'the hair clement dnother way before it can rise to the top.” It is a great satisfaction, of course, to thdse wko happen to be “barefooted ” in"the place where the hair ought to‘grow, to learn exactly what occasions the depriva tion. e i e Lv e .

L Bird vs.Sarnighausen. . The public would like to be informed bow it came to pass that Jason Brown and three other Demogratic Senators voted with the Radicals to oust Mr. Sarnighau sen from 'his seat and give the same to Mr. Bird, the contestant? Mr. Sarnighausen is the editor of & German ‘Democratic paper in-Fort Wayne, and was elected upon the “People’s ticket,” by a clear majority of seven hundred’ votes over Bird, the regular nominee of the party. Mr. Sarnighausen may have been “a-bolter, and so far asthat act could make him a disorganizer, might be so considered; ‘but granting such to be the case, what ‘justification 3s that for those Senators to ~override the wishes of the large gajority of the citizens of Allen county, agd, turn him out.of the seati to which he was fairly entitled ? Either Mr. Brown and the -three other Democratic Senators who voted with bhim' did Mr. Barnighausen a great wrong, or the ather Democratic -Senators'who voted that he might retain his seat were terribly blinded. ) ‘We do not go a great deal upon Mr. ‘Jason B. N Better Blood Purifier than
DR. WEAVERS
/MEDICINES, FOR HUMORS.
These invaluable medicines have achieved a complete triumph in eradicating Humors of all kinds from the human system. They were introduced to the public some sixteen years since and have been used. with-entire success. The Canker-and Salt Rheum Syrup is taken internally, which cleanses the blood by throwing impurities to the surface, when the Cerate is dpplied‘externally, and all eruptions are destroyed, and'bealth and beauty are restored. Their astonishing success hascalled out many ignorant pretenders, who bave introducded their wonderful prepdarations to the public. They are out in almostevery form, from Panaceas down to Pills, and all for Humors. (Gf ceurse t)af'y are.) But it has been reserved to Dr. Weaver’s Syrup and Cerate to ‘achieve what, under the circumstances, may, be regarded as the most brilliant triumph yet achieved by any medicine ever introduced to the American public. ' Why is this? Simply because they perform what they ‘promise ; .and dotwithstanding the introduetion of fihes_e new'and wonderful preparations to the public, the Salt Rheum Syrup and Cerate keep steadily on their way, conquering: as they go. If the public wish to try these new preparations ‘we have not a word to say, for they have agure remedy to fall ‘back upon, viz: DR. WeAver’s Canker and Sanr Ragos Syrup and CerATE.— Of this fact the public are well aware, for thousands in all sections of the country have heen cured by them, after all other remedies have utterty failed., = .
