C. & L; and thé-Peru & Ind. Rail Road Companies to carry delegates to the Democratic State Conyention, to be held atlndianapolis on theBth of J anuary next, -at half fare, a special -train for the return trip being included in this arrangement, upon condition that 100 delegntes avail themselves of the opportunity. The fare - from Laporto?’o Indianapolis and rzturn - is.s6, and ¥y the above arrangement del egates can return to their respective homes on Sunday. ProressioNaL CoMPLIMENTS.—It is Well known to the unfortunates who need the services of a physician, that the verlest trifle in the shape of & medical presoription costs the modest sum of one dollar There is & story current in our town that one of our 'citizens recently had this peculiatity of his profession brought home to him in & manner both positive and unexpected. ' It:seems that the doctor was ealled by a certain blacksmith to examiné his wife’s arm, whieh needed remedies for a looal ailment., He made & hurried examination, wrote out a prescription, and told his patient to send it to Brown’s drug ‘atore where it would be put ‘up for them. The blacksmith asked the amount of his bill, and was informed that it was one dollar. A short time after, the doctor ‘wished to have his horse’s shoes re-set, and went to the blacksmith for that purpose. .
