| . Emportant if True. A * There seems to be'a very general complaint among physicians of failure to produce constitutional effects with vaccine virus, the freshest and most perfect specimens failing in numerous cases. . It iz a fact well established that, for a number . of years past, small-pox has been gradu"ally decreasing in those countries where vaccination is’ practiced. It is therefore believed by some of our most eminent physicians that the contagion will continue to decrease in the ratio in zvhich vaccination becomes difficult or impossible in individuals. If it be true that vaccination:destroys the susceptibility of the human raee to the small-pox poison, parents should attend. faithfully to the vaccination of their children. If the virus has been properly applied, and no constitutional effects follow, the chan“ces are that the child is not stceptible to the poison, and would not, if exposed, contract the disease. If this theory be correct, yaccination has nearly doneits allotted work. - J'nder the circumstances, vaccination should be repeated every few years.—Hzxchange. : ittt I et Business-like Statement from a Busimness Man. : Frankriy, Qakland Co., Mich,, | RHE May 14th, 1868, Dr. C. W. Roßack—Dear Sir: I received ' a supply of your: Scandinavian Remediesa short time since, and the first thing I saw, on opening one of your Almanacs, was a cure of Rheumatism. I imimes ‘diately sat down and wrote a friend of mirfe, stating I had just teceived a new medicine that was advertised to cure the “worst case of Rbeumatistn. The friend was Lemuel B. White, of Southfield; Oakland County, Mich., who has been afflicted with the above disease two years.. I sent him a bottle of the Purifier and a box of Pills, stating, to take them or send them hack. He'immediately commeunced using them, and Ia four days, he was able to walk to my store, He stated that one bottle of ‘Purifier and one box of Pills would cure him entirely.. The above statemeant can be obtained:-on his oath, if necessary, as he told me a few days ago. I think your medicine will sell like hot cakes when once introduced into this neighborhood Very truly, B A : F. B. OwEN.
One hundred years ago the new celebrated PrLANTATION BlrTers were as well known in the ‘West Indias as they are now known in the United ~States.- It is true that they were not known by that name, but their components and manner of manufacturing were the same—savethat there, has been added Calisaya ar Peruvian Bark, celebrated the world over for its wonderful tonic properties. Even to this day these Bitters are popular as ever, and their gale and use‘on these Islands is:con: stantly increasing, and there can hardly a family be found, rich or poor, who is without them. We do 'not wish to impute any wrong o the American proprietors of these Bitfers, but that they are the originators, we most stoutly deny, and they must take such umbrage at it as they. please. -At the same time we take this occasion to say that a more valuable tonie Bitters cannot be found in all the world. ‘We consider them just the thing for weak and delicate females, and all those requiring a mild and gentle stimulant. ‘MaeNoLia WATER,—Superior to the best imported German Cologne, and sold at half thé price. : ) ; ; il 4 ——re Ir you do not feel well, you send for a doctor, he calls upon you, looks wise, gucks the head of his cane, scrawls some hieroglifics upon a piece of é)apeltswhicb you take to a drug store, and there pay 50cts. to $l.OO besides the doctors fee, for a remedy nine times out of ten not half as- gond as' Judsons’s' Mountain Herb Pills, which is: only 25¢cts. per box.
