Business-like Statement from.aa Buasi- : ness Man. FRANKLIN, Oakland Co., Mich., May 14th, 1868. % Dr. C. W. Roßack—Dear Sir: I re-_ ceived a supply of your Scandinavian Remedies a short time since; and the first thing I saw, on opening one of your Almanacs, was a cure of Rheumatism. I immediately sat down and wrote a ‘friend of mine, stating I had just received a new medicine that was advertised to cure the worst case of Rheumatism. The friend was Lemuel B. White, of Southfield, Oak: land County, Mich., who has been afflicted with the above disease two years. I sent him a Qottle of the Purifier and a box of Pills, stating, to take them or send them back. ' He immediately commenced using them, and in four days, he was able to walk to my store. He stated that one bottle-of Purifier and one box of Pills would cure him entirely. The ahove statemeat can be obtained on his oath, if necessary, as he told me a few days ago. The purity of the water is such as to make thisa desirable point for a book paper factory. " ! At the present time there is in oppera-. tion one woolen factory, and a second in course of erection; gne saw mill, one shingle and lath factory, and one flouring mill, with four<Tun of burrs.” The woolen mill is:-owned by a company, of which the wealthy and «v{'e’u k”n%ofg ‘mauufacturers of Indianapolis, the Messrs. Its speciality is the manufacture of the Hoosier Jeans - satinets, flanmels, and blankets are largely produced. No better evidence of the high character of their product can he furnished than the fact that two-thirds of ‘their goods are purchased by citizens of Noble county.— Their sales during three months to one firm alone, that of Mier & Co., of Ligonier, amounted to $7,000.
The population of the place numbers about six hundred. Each branch of business is fully represented, and on completion of the railroad there will be a great impulse given to manufacturing and commercial enterprise, which will ‘promote the prosperity of all classes. The Messrs. Geisendorf have made great pecuniary sacrifices, and used unremitting efforts to secure the advantages of railway communication for Rome City, and it will be the earnest hope of every lover. of enterprise that they may realize the best results from that operation.’ . &l | Persons desirous of inspecting the. real advantages offered by Rome - City, will find every accommodation at the Helmer House.
