gist who faihs or refuses to furnish us with pure chemicals and drugs, and in like manner we should withhold our patronage when and where they refuse t furnish us tho pure and unadulterated liquor required for a faithful discharge of professional duties. If liquor is medicinal at all, it is more so as it is pure. Our legislature has w isely forbid the sale of impure liquor in the State, and if the Act is enforced, nothing but the pure article will pass the hands of the drug store. Xow is thc time for medical men to secure an invaluable immunity for the honor of our profession and the good of our patients. A law of Congress with our State law and we would be safe from the vile impositions of unprincipled liquor dealers.

The acid of thc fruit literally destroys them; exposing the nerves to the immediate action of whatever is brought in contact with thc teeth. All substances therefore of an acid nature, used for the purpose of cleansing and whitening the teeth are highly W jurious; for each application wili necessarily remove .a portion . of thc outside coating or enamel of the teeth. Salt is also injurious to tlie teeth, especially, when it is used for cleansing them-a very common and foolish practice.
